Canada must stop subsidies to big oil companies

A leaked memo to Finance Minister Jim Flaherty advised the minister to live up to a G20 commitment to phase out tax breaks to the companies that produce coal, oil and gas. Climate Action Network Canada welcomes Northern Youth Intern to the team!

Climate Action Network Canada is pleased to welcome Daniel T'seleie as our Northern Youth Climate Intern.


Daniel will be joining us for 6 months thanks to the generous support of the Walter and Duncan Gordon Foundation and the United Church of Canada. Daniel, of the K'asho Got'ine Dene Band, has been a member of the Canadian Youth Delegation to UN climate conferences as well as ongoing involvement with various climate change organizations in the North.

Daniel will be using his time to raise awareness about the impacts of climate change in Canada's North and the steps that need to be taken to avoid dangerous climate change and address ongoing impacts. He will also support ongoing work of the Climate Action Network Canada, Northern Voices on Climate Change, the Arctic Athabaskan Council, Ecology North, Gwich'in Council International, and the Pembina Institute who have been collaborating on Northern climate change policy and the ongoing international climate change negotiations.

Climate Action Network Canada will also be hiring a Social Media and Outreach Intern for the summer.  For more information, see the job posting.
